VP Mike Pence leaves NFL game early after more anthem protests

Mike-Pence-NFL-protest-rtr-imgDonald Trump was quite happy of Pence’s reaction on Sunday. He tweeted: [Pence] “is receiving great praise for leaving game after the players showed such disrespect for our country!”

The anthem protests keep going and some of the San Francisco 49ers players decided to kneel during the Star Spangled Banner.

This is the same team where the demonstrations started, kicking off with QB Colin Kaepernick, who’s currently unemployed.

Pence tweeted that he won’t “dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem”.

Was it a political stunt? That’s what many are wondering, particularly after Trump  admitted that Pence’s game appearance was “long planned”.

According to the former Indiana governor, he participated to watch Peyton Manning’s jersey retirement ceremony.
